Rosselkhoznadzor has identified a large batch of imported fruits contaminated with parasitic insects in Kirov. This was reported in the press service of the interregional department of the department.
On Monday, December 2, Rosselkhoznadzor employees checked 13.9 tons of tangerines that arrived at the Kirov fruit and vegetable base through St. Petersburg from Georgia and Morocco. The analysis showed that the products contained a pest in a viable state – the red orange scale insect.
However, the department allowed the infected tangerines to be sold because the fruits do not pose a threat to human health. Despite this, Rosselkhoznadzor again reminded Kirov residents of the need to thoroughly wash fruits and vegetables before eating.
