Bloomberg named the reason – UNIAN

The country has increased imports of Russian supplies through Slovakia.

The Czech Republic declared complete independence from Russian natural gas in the summer of 2023 and reduced imports to almost zero.

Now, as network data shows, it imports at least part of Russian fuel through Slovakia, Bloomberg writes.

These relatively cheap supplies are expected to come to an abrupt end at the end of the year, when the agreement allowing flows from Russia to the European Union via Ukraine expires. While central European countries have said they have enough supply, they may still face higher costs.
