Today the second act of the Arcane sequel was released, which means that there is only a week left until the end of the most successful video game adaptation in history.
Showrunner Christian Linke spoke with Animation Magazine and reminisced about how the series came to be: “We definitely started Arcane at a time when there was no precedent for this kind of approach. People were telling us, 'Hey, you can't have 40 in animation.' minute-long episodes, this is crazy,'” but that didn’t stop Linke. There were few examples of real drama in Western animation; scenes where two characters simply stood in tense silence were not common, Christian recalls.
