Half-Life 2 set a new online record on Steam – UNIAN

Having recently celebrated its birthday, Half-Life 2 set a new record for one-time online play on Steam.
According to SteamDB, on November 16, Half-Life 2 had 52,000 concurrent players, the highest online since monitoring began in 2008. Unfortunately, the site does not have online statistics at the time of release in 2004.
The game set its previous record in August 2021 during the custom flash mob Breaking the Bar, which was aimed precisely at updating the peak value of the online game. The players wanted to prove to Valve that the Half-Life series was still popular and loved by players. Back then, 16 thousand players were playing Half-Life 2 simultaneously.
