The 98-year-old World War II veteran received his diploma from a high school in Rhode Island, USA, during a ceremony.
WJAR-TV reports.
Anthony Simeone dropped out of school at the age of 16 to help his family, and at the age of 17 joined the US Army to fight in World War II.
Simeone, who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, earned a high school diploma after returning to the United States after the war, but now has an official high school diploma from Cranston East High School.
“I never expected to be honored like this,” he said.

The ceremony was organized by Simeone's granddaughter, who teaches at an elementary school in Cranston.
