One of Boxingnews24.com's regular contributors, Daniel McGlinchey, is not impressed by the talk that the undefeated Briton Hamza Shiraz instead of Zhanibek Alimkhanuly could fight another world middleweight champion, holder of the WBC belt Carlos Adamesreports Sports.kz.
The day before, Shiraz promoter Frank Warren announced that he had withdrawn from promotional bidding for the fight with Alimkhanuly. Now Adames is called Hamza's most likely opponent.
“It is rumored that Shiraz will fight for the world title on February 22, and most likely the opponent will be WBC champion Carlos Adames. Adames is considered the weakest link among the three middleweight champions and the only one Shiraz has a real chance of defeating,” the author believes.
