This spring, the authorities of the Russian regions received a letter from the command of the 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division with a request to help find soldiers of the occupation army who fled from the front.
As the publication Important Stories writes, more than a thousand military divisions were on the list from the command. Among them were contract soldiers, conscripts, and mobilized ones.
According to journalists, the document that was in their possession “shows the real scale of flight from the Russian army during the war.”
“More than a thousand people escaped from just one division, and in total at least two dozen divisions are participating in the war against Ukraine (exact data is classified),” the publication adds.
