Scientists have found evidence of a hallucinogenic ritual that may have helped ancient Egyptians recreate a mythical story in which a dwarf god tricks the sky goddess.
The team reported finding remains of a mixture that could cause hallucinations in those who drank it. They found remains inside a 2,200-year-old vase depicting Bes, the ancient Egyptian dwarf god associated with childbirth, fun and music, Live Science writes.
