The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 11410, which allows to deprive traitors of state awards. The bill, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in July this year, was supported by 28 people's deputies.

People's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this.

According to the new changes, people convicted of serious crimes against national security, peace or international law and order can be deprived of state awards upon conviction. In addition, the deprivation may take place by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), which is implemented by presidential decree.

Also, the draft law provides that the popularization of the actions of the aggressor state can be grounds for deprivation of awards. Persons who have lost state awards are deprived of rights and privileges,…
