An unruly passenger was beaten to death after trying to open the emergency door on a flight from Brazil to Panama.

“The flight attendant started screaming, and the other one tried to restrain him, but she couldn't because he was too strong,” said 51-year-old photojournalist Cristiano Carvalho, who filmed the chaotic scene.

The fight reportedly broke out on Tuesday morning, November 5, aboard Copa Airlines flight CM204 from Brasilia to Panama.

The flight was going smoothly until 30 minutes before landing, one of the passengers rushed to the tail of the plane with a plastic knife from a food tray and tried to take the flight attendant hostage in order to open the plane's door.
