Price caps do not allow covering the deficit in the energy system – Tinny – Money
The current price caps (limit prices for electricity) limit the possibilities for importing and restoring Ukraine's energy system. Ihor Tynny, co-founder of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, businessman and investor in RES, stated this in a comment for ExPro Electricity.
In his opinion, price caps do not allow effective maneuvering in the market, especially when there is a need for imported electricity to cover the deficit. Tynny noted that such restrictions also narrow opportunities for the development of the domestic electricity market, in particular, for the introduction of energy storage technologies.
