A lonely bottlenose dolphin in the Baltic Sea, with no friends, started talking to himself to keep from feeling sad, a new study has found.

The male dolphin, which the locals named Delle, puzzled scientists. Experts observed it drifting in the Svendborgsund Canal in Denmark, which is far outside the species' normal range. Bottlenose dolphins are very sociable animals and, as you know, they call each other “brand whistles”. However, Delle seems to be whistling to an audience of just one.
