A 41-year-old local resident intended to detonate a grenade in a high-rise building.
The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region reported on this event.
An investigative and operational group and a special unit of the KORD, as well as employees of the State Emergency Service, immediately arrived at the scene of the incident. The police cordoned off the residential quarter, and the residents of the apartment building were evacuated.
Negotiations began with the man, who locked himself in the apartment and wanted to set off the explosives, to which he threatened to blow himself up together with the law enforcement officers.
Subsequently, he detonated a grenade, as a result of which he was seriously injured. So far, doctors have provided him with the necessary medical assistance.
