The world's largest hotel in the shape of a rooster was built in the Philippines

A hotel in the Philippine province of Negros Occidental was recently listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest building in the shape of a rooster.

The 35m tall Rooster Hotel at Campuestohan Highland Resort is quite a sight. Not only does it have the shape of a pet bird, but it actually looks like a giant realistic rooster, dominating the entire area with its majestic posture. Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan, the resort's director, told reporters he wanted to create something eye-catching as well as pay tribute to the local culture, of which game is a huge part. Negros Occidental is home to millions of Filipinos who farm game, so he hopes some of them will want to spend the night in one of the new hotel's 15 air-conditioned rooms.
