IN Kyiv on the day of St. Nicholas, December 6, the country's main Christmas tree will be lit. Arrangement of the New Year tree on the territory of Sofia Square will begin on December 2.

This was reported by the KMVA and the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko.

“In Kyiv this year, Christmas and New Year's holidays will be held without mass gatherings and events, fairs and entertainment, in compliance with safety requirements and the regime of limiting the use of electricity. This decision was made by the Capital's Defense Council,” the mayor said.

The Christmas tree on Sofia Square will be installed only with the funds of patrons – without the involvement of budget money.

The KMVA added that near the Christmas tree there will be photo booths with QR codes of charity funds and two small houses for the sale of souvenirs. There are no mass events, fairs or other entertainment on Sofia Square…
