Maybe not everyone remembers, but once upon a time Valve developed its own gamepad, which was distinguished by an innovative approach to control: instead of sticks, it had 2 trackpads. It looks like the company wants to restart the project; renders of the future controller have leaked online.
The new Steam Controller 2 is being developed under the code name Ibex. This time, Valve made the device more down to earth, adding two sticks to the now square trackpads.
In addition to the gamepad, a render of a joystick for VR headsets appeared on the Internet. It is reported that it can be used not only for virtual reality, but also for regular games, thanks to the D-pad, bumpers and a full set of buttons.
