War in Ukraine – how a demilitarized zone could be structured – UNIAN

The lieutenant colonel believes that Ukraine is unlikely to be able to regain all of its territories.

The creation of a demilitarized zone on the territory of Ukraine after the end of the war is a realistic scenario for the development of events. US Air Force officer Lieutenant Colonel Jahara “Frankie” Matisek spoke about this in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“You will essentially create a huge demilitarized zone between Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine. And these will be millions of mines and Ukrainian defense bases, as well as, possibly, forces under the flag of the European Union as observers, peacekeepers and part of this line It would essentially become one big containment wire, if you will.
