According to the UEFA press service, this figure is a record high in the history of the tournament. The previous record was set in the 1st round of the Champions League of the 2000/2001 season, when 63 goals were scored over 16 matches.
Note that on November 26, in the first nine games of the 5th round, 40 goals were scored, which is the second highest figure in the history of the tournament in one game day.
At the moment, the standings are headed by Liverpool, which has scored 15 points. Inter are in second place with 12 points. Barcelona is in third place with 12 points.
