Hidden text was discovered on the page of the Blue Quran under intricate patterns, writes interestingengineering.com.
“This ninth-century manuscript is famous for its indigo-dyed sheepskin pages, gold Kufic calligraphy and silver decorations,” the publication said.
It is noted that the hidden text turned out to be verses from Surah An-Nisa. Researchers at the Zayed National Museum (ZNM) in Abu Dhabi discovered them using advanced multispectral imaging.
It is stated that the verses have been hidden for centuries, and their discovery offers new insights into the creation of Islamic manuscripts and the art of early calligraphers.
