In Kirov, a police captain saved a woman by becoming a bone marrow donor for her

The Kirov Research Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion shared the story of the rescue of a woman who learned about a terrible diagnosis. Details are provided on the institution’s page on the social network.

In November 2021, a police captain from Kirov, having learned about the bone marrow donor registry, decided to join it. He donated blood and after a month and a half they called him, informing him that he could save someone’s life.

It turned out that the recipient was a fellow countrywoman of the donor. By this time, the woman from Kirov had been battling the disease for two years. Chemotherapy did not bring the desired result. Then she was offered a bone marrow transplant.
