A full member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, ophthalmologist and leading refractive surgeon Tatyana Shilova, in an interview with NEWS.ru, told how to protect vision when working at a computer, Sports.kz reports.

The specialist emphasized that it is advisable to take breaks every 20 minutes for at least 20 seconds.

— There is a rule: 20-20-20, when we take a break from work every 20 minutes. We are talking about at least 20 seconds when we move our gaze from a near object to a distant object, which is located at a distance of six meters. For example, you can look out the window. This helps to relax the eye muscles,” Shilova explained.

The doctor clarified that it is important to monitor the distance to the screen. It should be no closer than 50–70 cm from the eyes if it is a computer, and no closer than 30–40 cm when using a phone. The specialist advised…
