Blackout – Three Ukrainian nuclear power plants have reduced electricity production

All 9 reactors of existing nuclear power plants have reduced power.

Three operating nuclear power plants (NPPs) in Ukraine reduced their electricity production this morning following new attacks on the country's energy infrastructure. This was stated by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.

“For the second time in less than two weeks, the Khmelnitsky, Rivne and South Ukrainian nuclear power plants reduced power levels as a precaution during large-scale military operations in the country, while air raid alarms sounded at three sites,” the statement said.

There are nine reactors in total at operating nuclear power plants, all of which have reduced power. Also, one reactor of the Rivne nuclear power plant was disconnected from the network. At the same time, nuclear power plants continued…
