Australia was the first in the world to pass a law prohibiting access to social networks for users under 16 years of age. This decision caused a wave of controversy throughout the country, reports Reuters.
According to it, children will not be able to create accounts even with the approval of their parents, and the social networks themselves will have to monitor this – for violation there is a fine of up to 50 million Australian dollars (~1 billion UAH). However, if the users themselves circumvent the ban, there is no punishment for them.
