Traditionally, the tree is donated to the city by patrons in whose yard it grew.
In Lviv, efforts are beginning to install a Christmas tree in the central square, which is planned to be lit on December 5 – the eve of St. Nicholas Day.
According to the press service of the Lviv City Council, traditionally, the city will not buy a tree this year; it will be donated by the family of Yaroslav and Anna Podvornykh from the village of Birki, Yavorovsky district, Lviv region.
It is noted that the height of the tree is about 16 meters. The Christmas tree is approximately 20 years old.
