A historic day for the Lviv region: the OVA made a statement about the Moscow Patriarchate


The Lviv region was “cleansed” of religious communities that are subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate.

Lviv region became the first in Ukraine where there is no longer a single registered religious community of the Moscow Patriarchate. Before the beginning of Russian aggression in 2014, there were 66 such religious communities in the region.

This was announced by the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.

“Today is a historic day for the Lviv Oblast – the region has been cleansed of religious communities that are subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate,” said the statement of the head of the OVA.

He noted that the Lviv region became the first in Ukraine wherethere is no longer any registered “religious community of the Russian Orthodox Church”.

As Kozytsky reported, before the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014, there were 66 religious communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in the Lviv region. As of February 24…
