Zelensky appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces: what is known about personnel changes
The President approved important personnel changes in the army command.
Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, known for the successful defense of the Kharkiv region, was appointed as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“Together with the Central Committee, several personnel decisions were made for our army. Mykhailo Drapaty was appointed as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleg Apostol was appointed as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” the message reads.
The President reminded that General Drapaty successfully organized the defense in the Kharkiv direction and disrupted the offensive operation of the Russian occupation army. Colonel Oleg Apostol is an experienced commander of the 95th separate amphibious assault brigade.
