In 2021, David Gunter, now 77, strangled his wife, Janice, at a nursing home in Paphos, Cyprus, at her request as she battled terminal blood cancer.

After serving 18 months in prison, he was released last year on manslaughter charges, but the country's prosecutors are now challenging his sentence.
