During the weekend, Greece was covered by the storm “Bora”. Heavy rains and gale-force winds caused flooding and destruction across the country. At least two people died.

On the Greek island of Lemnos, a flood damaged roads and buildings. Residents were asked to evacuate their homes amid fears the dam could overflow.
The first victim was a 57-year-old farmer. He drowned after being washed away by a torrent of water while trying to pull out a car stuck in a mudflow. A 70-year-old man from the village of Kontias on Lemnos also died. He fell into a stream of water when he tried to clean his house
The popular Greek tourist island of Rhodes was significantly affected by the storm “Bora”. More than 30 cm of rain fell there during the day. A 24-hour traffic ban was introduced on the island…
