Syrian forces opposing the regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad have taken full control of one of the country's largest cities, Aleppo.

Dictator Assad's forces, supported by Iran and the Russian Federation, could not hold the city and retreated from it after a rapid offensive by rebel forces.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and allied opposition forces are reported to be in control of Aleppo city, except for areas controlled by Kurdish forces.
In addition to the city itself, the suppliers took control of the city's airport, as well as the surrounding areas.
In turn, Syrian and Russian aircraft carried out a series of strikes on Sunday to support Assad's forces. As a result of these strikes, 12 people died in Aleppo.
