Ukraine has the opportunity to increase imports of electricity from Europe, but this requires changes in market regulation. This was stated by the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities Services Sergei Nagornyak.

According to Nagornyak, Ukraine currently imports only a small amount of electricity from Europe – only 400 MW. The main obstacle is the upper price cap set by the regulator.
