Scientists have made an unexpected conclusion about the effect of beef on heart health – Nutrition

Scientists from Indiana State University have found that moderate consumption of beef (about 161 grams per day) has virtually no effect on biomarkers of cardiovascular disease, such as cholesterol levels and blood pressure, reports Sports.kz with reference to Gazeta.ru.

The study results were published in the journal Current Developments in Nutrition.

It is generally accepted in the scientific community that consumption of beef (and other types of red meat) is associated with poorer heart health. To confirm or refute this claim, American scientists conducted a meta-analysis of 20 previously published scientific papers. The studies included both healthy people and patients with various diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
