In Germany, the verdict was announced for four teenagers who were found guilty of murdering two Ukrainian basketball players – Vladimir Ermakov (17 years old) and Artem Kozachenko (18 years old) – in February this year. As BR24 writes, the Essen court announced sentences on Monday, according to which two teenagers received ten years in prison, and two more – 8.5 years. The trial took place entirely behind closed doors.

The publication notes that the court did not find a xenophobic motive in the murder of Ukrainians; it was “a completely unprovoked act.” The court said the youths acted “in the knowledge” that they “did not need a reason…
