During the chairmanship of Poland significant events may occur in the Council of the European Union regarding war and peace in Ukraine.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said this, PAP reports.

According to the politician, his country's six-month presidency of the EU Council, which will begin on January 1, 2025, will be special. After all, Tusk emphasized, it “belongs to a special time”.

“Our priorities are not routine. We are waiting for possibly significant events regarding war and peace to the east of our border,” said the Polish Prime Minister.

The Polish prime minister says that “the task of the Polish presidency is a deep adjustment of some European priorities.” Tusk did not say what exactly they were. However, he emphasized that “some of them are already slowly maturing for this.”
