Term of office of the new elected president International Olympic Committee (IOC)) will begin on June 24, 2025, according to the official website IOCreports Sports.kz with reference to RIA Novosti.
The voting itself will take place at the 144th IOC session in Costa Navarino (Greece) from March 18 to 21, 2025. It will be held behind closed doors, and voting rounds will continue until the candidate receives an absolute majority of votes.
The candidate receiving the fewest votes in each round will be eliminated and will not participate in the next round. The current IOC President Thomas Bach will remain in office until a new head of the organization is elected.
