Ukraine needs to improve the legislation on biological parentage and ensure the preservation of the nation's gene pool.
In less than three years of the war, the population of Ukraine has significantly decreased. If at the beginning of the war it was 42 million citizens, then by the end of 2024, only 35.8 million people remained in Ukraine. According to the Institute of Demography and Quality of Life Problems of the National Academy of Sciences, by 2051, that is, in just 26 years, the population of our country may decrease to 25.2 million Ukrainians.
This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets
