Westinghouse supports Ukraine's plans to develop nuclear energy on the eve of the Rada's decision on the Khmelnytsky NPP
The American company Westinghouse Electric Company expressed support for Ukraine's plans to expand nuclear energy through the construction of new generating capacities.
“We support these ambitious aspirations of Ukraine and are ready to provide the necessary assistance for their implementation together with our long-term partner – NNEGC Energoatom. We are proud of our partnership and look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the development of safe nuclear energy for Ukraine,” the company said in an official statement .
This week, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans to consider and adopt a bill on completing the construction of power units No. 3 and No. 4 of the Khmelnitsky NPP.
Let us remind you that the government made the decision to complete the construction of these units back in April 2024. As of today, power unit No. 3 is 80% ready, and power unit No. 4 is 25% ready.
