Western air defense systems in Poland will protect only NATO airspace
The Polish politician called the situation with the attacks on Ukraine “dramatic”.
Western anti-aircraft systems, which will be received by the neighboring Polandwill protect the airspace exclusively of NATO countries.
Polish Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys said this on TVN24.
“Poland is a front-line country. There were airspace violations in Poland, Romania, and Latvia. We must strengthen airspace protection,” he emphasized.
However, in his words, “the situation with airstrikes in Ukraine is dramatic.”
Kosiniak-Kamysh mentioned the issue of sending to his country the Norwegian F-35 multi-purpose aircraft and NASAMS anti-aircraft systems to protect the airspace over the logistics hub for assistance to Ukraine in Jasionka, as well as Germany's decision to send batteries of the Patriot system to Poland.
