The major of the Armed Forces explained what the problem with defective mines could be
According to him, the production of mortar shells requires strict adherence to technologies and the use of appropriate materials.
Ukraine was recently rocked by a loud scandal: thousands of domestically produced 120 mm mortar shells turned out to be of poor quality. Problems with mortar shells may have arisen from the use of the wrong gunpowder.
This opinion was expressed by a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, reserve major of NSU Oleksiy Hetman on the Espresso TV channel.
“As soon as the question arose about low-quality mines, there were immediately assumptions that the reason could be improper storage. Perhaps it could have happened in some units, but for the whole area of the front to store mines improperly at the same time, and everything else properly, this looks like a very weak explanation,” said Hetman.
