Mobilization of women in Ukraine — what the new draft law provides for — Ukraine
Forced mobilization of women is currently impossible in Ukraine.
Basic General Military Training (BMT) is an essential survival skill in today's world that every person, regardless of gender, needs. But passing this training will not mean automatic mobilization of women.
People's deputy from the “European Solidarity” faction, Oleksiy Honcharenko, stated this on the air of “Kyiv24”.
He informed that the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis the government's draft law, according to which women who have passed BZVP will be put on the list of conscripts. But to pass or not to pass education is an exclusively voluntary decision of a woman.
“If she does not want to undergo basic military training, she does not undergo anything and does not become a conscript. There is no mobilization of women here,” the people's deputy emphasized.
