War in Syria – rebels ousted government forces from strategic Hama – UNIAN
The rebels said they had captured the central prison and released prisoners from there.
On Thursday, December 5, Syrian rebels drove pro-government forces out of Hama. This is their next victory after a lightning-fast advance across northern Syria, reports Reuters.
The agency shared that the Syrian army announced that the rebels had entered Hama after intense clashes. Pro-government forces stressed that they had to redeploy outside the city “to preserve the lives of civilians and prevent urban fighting.”
