Distributed generation will not replace the nuclear unit to support the development of industry, the expert said
The completion of the 3rd and 4th power units of the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant is a strategically important task for ensuring energy independence and supporting the industrial development of Ukraine.
As Yuriy Malakhov, adviser to the chairman of the board of JSC “Kyiv Research and Design Institute “Energoproekt”, noted, distributed generation facilities, such as gas piston plants with a capacity of 5 megawatts, are not capable of providing the stability and power that a single nuclear unit with a capacity of 1000 megawatt.
