The Kirov Region Ministry of Health reports that doctors at the Traumatology Center helped twin sisters from the Komi Republic by correcting a rare deformity.

In July, 11-year-old twins from the Komi Republic arrived in Kirov to correct their Madelung deformity. The disease leads to visible shortening of the arm and deformation of the hands.

The surgeons performed an operation: they applied a pin device to the left forearm and hand. Two and a half months later, the children arrived for the second operation.

The deformities of the left forearm were corrected, the left hands were returned to the correct position. The girls will engage in physical therapy, massage and magnetotherapy. In a year there will be surgery on my right hand.
