The governing body of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has initiated an external investigation into Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan over alleged sexual harassment. An internal document, which was circulated among the court's member states, calls on Khan to temporarily step down from his duties until the review is completed.

Khan vehemently denies the allegations and considers them part of a disinformation campaign against his office. He appealed to the internal body of the ISS to conduct an investigation of these facts, but the pressure on him is increasing. In response to this, the Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court agreed to start an external investigation at a meeting on November 7.
