Uzbekistan's fight for the final of the 2024 Championship in boxing almost ended in disqualification – Boxing/MMA
Uzbek boxer Aziza Zokirova performed successfully in the semi-finals Asian Boxing Championship 2024 in Chiang Mai (Thailand)reports Sports.kz.
In the semi-final match in the weight category up to 75 kilograms, Zokirova fought with Ukrainian Maria Borutsya and defeated her by unanimous decision – 5:0. During the fight, the referee deducted two points from Boruca – after the third penalty, she would have faced disqualification.
Thus, Aziza Zokirova reached the finals of the competition and will compete for the gold medal in a fight with Chinese Lina Wang, who knocked out Kazakh athlete Diana Magauyeva at the previous stage of the tournament. As for Maria Borutsa, the boxer from Ukraine finished her performance at the Asian Championships with bronze.
