In general, TCC workers can act autonomously, without the participation of police officers, the minister says.
TCC workers can check citizens' documents and issue summonses without the help of police, but the military still asks for police presence while field teams are working on the street. Interior Minister Igor Klimenko spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“We work exclusively within the limits of our powers, we protect public order. And despite the fact that the TCC has all the powers to check the documents of citizens themselves, they ask – these are official requests to the National Police – that we accompany the TCC workers,” says the minister.
According to Klimenko, “isolated cases that everyone is trying to savor” really contribute to “non-mobilization.”
