Unrecognized Transnistria declares an economic emergency
The state of emergency is planned for 30 days.
The authorities of the unrecognized Transnistria are preparing to declare an economic emergency due to the risk of cutting off Russian gas supplies to the region, which is associated with Ukraine’s reluctance to renew the transit contract from 2025. The leader of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, signed a corresponding decree on December 9, which must still be approved by the legislative body, reports the Moldovan publication Newsmaker.
The economic emergency regime is provided for 30 days.
The document provides, in particular, for the rational use of gas and other energy resources, a ban on the export of energy resources, and restrictions on certain types of financial and economic activities, including the movement of goods, financial resources and the provision of services.
