The Dutch Ministry of Defense announced the interception of three Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea.

Two F-35 multi-role fighter jets, which have been monitoring NATO airspace on the eastern border since early December, made their first intercepts from Estonia, according to the statement. We are talking about QRA operations that are carried out when aircraft approach the airspace that do not identify themselves.

The QRA was activated twice on Friday. First, the military discovered an An-72 transport aircraft and a SU-24MR, which collects electronic intelligence data. In the afternoon they spotted an Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft. F-35s remotely escorted the aircraft to the border of the NATO area of ​​responsibility.
