“Found on the market: A new cure for liver cancer was discovered in the Philippines – it turned out to be a very popular seafood product,” reads the headline of an article on the website Hibiny.ru.

After studying samples of the walls and internal organs of sea cucumbers, they isolated molecules that they used in experiments. Experiments showed that those molecules killed liver cancer cells.

These invertebrate marine animals have revealed a set of lipids (fat molecules) that may serve as the building blocks of sphingolipids. And sphingolipids are those successful fighters against liver cancer cells.
