The government clarified the data collection rules for state cashback programs — Money
Banks were reminded about limitations in collecting personal data.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine informed the banks about the impracticality of excessive requirements for the disclosure of bank data during the implementation of the “Winter Support” and “National Cashback” state programs.
This is stated in the letter of the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
“If a citizen is not interested in participating in the “National Cashback” program and plans to use this card only to receive funds under the “Winter is Support” program, banks should not require consent to disclose information about transactions from personal accounts or other personal data, which do not directly relate to the payment,” the message says.
