Mohammed al-Bashir became interim prime minister of the Syrian transitional government until March 1, 2025. He stated this during his speech on Syrian television, Reuters reports.
It is known that al-Bashir was the leader of the Government of Salvation before the 12-day rebel offensive on Damascus. The Syrian Rescue Government is a political structure that was created in 2017 in the territories under the control of the Syrian opposition, primarily in the province of Idlib.
It is noted that al-Bashir must now form the Syrian cabinet.
